Türkiye is one of the richest countries in the world in terms of geothermal and thermal water resources, which are used for health, wellness, and energy.
Among them, Yalova stands out as a historic thermal destination. Its thermal springs, located in the Termal district, have been used since Roman and Ottoman times for their mineral-rich, healing properties.
Surrounded by forested hills, Yalova’s thermal waters combine natural beauty with a deep spa tradition, making it one of the most accessible wellness centres for visitors. With this 1-day Yalova thermal spring route, you will feel the healing warmth of nature and the calm of a centuries-old tradition.

In the Morning
In the early morning, have a light breakfast and then set off from the city centre to Yalova Thermal Springs. It is recommended to soak in the thermal springs between 9 and 12 to enjoy the quiet hours. The forest around the thermal area feels calm and fresh, ideal for a relaxing morning.
Inside the thermal facility, you will find four traditional hammams: Valide, Kurşunlu, Kral and Açık. Each one is filled with naturally heated, mineral-rich water, and reflects the centuries-old culture still alive in Yalova today.
During the day, you can relax in the warm mineral waters, reduce stress, and help rejuvenate your skin. Regular visits can relieve muscle pain, improve blood circulation, and provide an overall sense of relaxation.-
At Midday
After spending the morning relaxing and soaking in the hot waters at the thermal facility, head to the nearby Yalova Museum (Yalova Atatürk and Children Museum). This historic wooden house, built in 1929, gives insights into Türkiye’s early Republican era, with its elegant rooms and peaceful gardens.
For lunch, try Termal Soup, a rich, buttery soup made from local vegetables such as carrots, potatoes, celery, and peas. Its mild flavour and warm texture are perfect for soothing and energising you after soaking in the hot springs. Pair it with Termal Sarma, a regional speciality in which thin slices of meat or vegetables are carefully wrapped and often slow-cooked, resulting in a delicate, flavourful dish.
Later, continue your afternoon with a walk along the Termal Stream toward Sudüşen Waterfall. The trail passes a scenic lake and lush forest, providing a refreshing contrast to the morning’s warm baths. Take a break at viewpoints along the way and enjoy the sound of cascading water in the cool, natural surroundings.
In the Evening
Towards evening, come back to the Yalova city centre for shopping and to try local delights. For dinner, you can try the regionally famous Yalova Meatballs, served alongside fresh salads and olive oil dishes that reflect the local culinary heritage. The Yalova Sütlüsü dessert is also worth tasting with its unique blend of milk‑soaked pastry layers, vanilla and nuts.
Lastly, browse the bazaars to buy souvenirs for your family and friends. Yalova’s aronya jam, its beautifully handcrafted textiles and the regionally acclaimed Yalova delight are also famous and easily portable during your return journey.
