Cappadocia, one of the loveliest places on Earth, shines even brighter in the autumn. Red, yellow and brown leaves cover the rock formations that shape the Cappadocian landscape.
The region's unique tuff rock is moulded over time by wind and rain, resulting in these spectacular rock formations known as fairy chimneys. People also carved houses and underground cities out of the same rock formations. Due to their spectacular nature, the Rock Sites of Cappadocia and Göreme National Park became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Walking the trails of Cappadocia allows you to closely examine its architectural wonders, breathe the pleasant breeze of fall, hear the song of wind dancing between the fairy chimneys, and realise what truly makes this region unique. Let’s take on this adventure together.

Love Valley, known for its unique fairy chimneys that represent the region's soul, is a must-see for anybody looking to understand Cappadocia better. Fairy chimneys are a wonder of nature, whose existence is dependent on a variety of factors, including soft tuff rocks moulded by wind and water. The trail that leads you along the fairy chimneys ends at a lovely hill named Aşıklar Tepesi (Love Hill), where you can view the magical sunset.
After you enjoy the deep colours of sunset at the Aşıklar Tepesi (Love Hill), don’t miss out on one of the delicacies of Cappadocia: Testi Kebabı. Testi Kebabı is prepared and slow-cooked inside the locally produced clay pots, which are then smashed during serving. The dish has a distinct aroma due to its slow-cooked preparation.
Why not make your walks more interesting by visiting an open-air museum, such as Göreme Archaeological Site? The museum was a residential area located 2 km east of Göreme village. This settlement is regarded as the first location where monastic education began. From the fourth century to the thirteenth century, the area was dominated by monastic life.
As you make your way through Göreme Archaeological Site, you'll pass by some of the region's best-preserved rock-hewn churches, which boast magnificent frescoes. Stepping foot on this path will be like stepping into a time machine, whisking you away from the modern world and into the fourth century.
The autumn air combines with the warm glow of the sunset to create a wonderful harmony in Kılıçlar Vadisi (Swords Valley). The rock formations here resemble swords, which is why the valley is named Swords.
Experience a transforming trek through challenging landscapes, rich history, and profound culture that will take your walking excursion to new heights. You can also go horseback riding in Kılıçlar Vadisi (Swords Valley). Cappadocia, known as the "Land of Beautiful Horses," provides a unique opportunity to explore the valley on horseback.
Ihlara Valley originated as a result of the cooling of andesite and basalt thick lava from Hasan Mountain. The Melendiz River, which flowed through these cracks, played an essential part in giving the canyon its current look.
Ihlara Valley, which is eighteen kilometres long, is one of the most magnificent walking paths you'll ever discover. The valley also includes 43 endemic flora that you can see on your walk. Aside from the natural wonders that the Ihlara Valley has to offer, it also has over one hundred churches and monasteries. Today, 12 of the churches are open to visitors.
