In the Morning
For breakfast, try Beypazarı simidi and Beypazarı katmeri with local delicacies such as fruit jams, local cheeses, and butter. This hearty meal gives you the energy to walk through the historic streets and sights of Beypazarı.
The streets of the district are adorned with historical houses, mainly reflecting the Ottoman-style architecture. Wander through the streets to explore and take photographs of the Historical Beypazarı Houses. This authentic, short trip will feel like you’re living in the Ottoman Empire hundreds of years ago.
At Midday
After wandering through the historical streets and sights, visit the Suluhan Mansion, which was built in the early 17th century during the Ottoman period by Grand Vizier Nasuh Paşa. You can rest in the cafés, drink Turkish tea or Turkish coffee and browse handicraft shops and local boutiques.
While in Beypazarı, you should also see İnözü Valley, a natural wonder near the district’s centre. Apart from its natural beauty, the valley is known for its ancient rock-carved dwellings and tombs, dating back to the Phrygian and Roman periods, roughly from the 8th century BCE to the 3rd century CE. Some of these caves were also used as monastic retreats and small chapels.
You can explore both the natural beauty and the traces that show continuous human settlement across multiple civilisations in the valley. Through the evening, go back to the district’s centre to watch one of the most beautiful sunset landscapes of Ankara.
In the Evening
Hıdırlık Hill, near the Suluhan Mansion, is visited in the early hours of your trip. The hill is a popular spot for locals and visitors, especially at sunset, when the golden light beautifully highlights the Ottoman-era architecture below.
For dinner, try the famous Beypazarı güveci, a perfect choice for a true taste of the region. This slow-cooked meat and vegetable stew, baked in clay pots, brings out deep, rich flavours rooted in Anatolian tradition. As a dessert, try höşmerim, a warm semolina pudding made with cheese and butter, a lovely way to end your day.
To complete your trip, visit the Beypazarı Silver Bazaar for a bit of shopping. You can pick up souvenirs such as handcrafted silver jewellery and filigree ornaments. Be sure to try Beypazarı kurusu, a type of crispy, butter-flavoured biscuit unique to the district.
