Day 1

On your first day, make a light breakfast and then set off to see the amazing meanders and untouched nature of Perşembe Plateau.

Its famous meanders are formed by alluvial-rich soils and reach beautifully in S- and U-shaped curves. They don’t dry out even in summer, thanks to Perşembe Plateau Pond. Moreover, they serve as a vital water source for fish, livestock, and other wildlife in the plateau.

Besides bungalows, hostels and hotels, Perşembe Plateau also has a local bakery, butcher, market, cafe, and even a supermarket. From recreational areas to walking trails around the pond, idyllic scenery to cultural structures, it’s an oasis to unplug and enjoy the blessings of nature.

After exploring the lush greenery, visit the Emir Kümbet Tomb. Here, Emir Kümbet, the commander of Danişment Gazi who was martyred while fighting against Trebizond in 1105, is commemorated alongside 6000 other martyrs. In a solemn atmosphere, you’ll have a chance to connect with the legacy of days gone by.

Then, it’s time to savour the local delicacies of the Black Sea region. To enrich your stay, we recommend trying lamb, highland honey, buffalo butter, and buffalo yoghurt. The region is also famous for its cuisine made with fresh vegetables and local herbs. Make sure to taste “turşu kavurması”, beet soup, roasted mushrooms made with local varieties, and cornbread.

Standing at a height of 1480 metres above sea level, the forest offers amazing views that unfold into every shade of green. You can find 4 bungalows, gazebos, and restaurants.

Additionally, various festivals, fun competitions, folklore shows, concerts, and wrestling matches contribute to the vibrant atmosphere of the plateau every July.
