Morning
Start your excursion by walking around the lake. As you stroll, the luminous spectacle of this crater lake’s clear turquoise waters will leave a glow in your heart. You can also go for a dip in its cool waters, which are among the deepest in Türkiye at nearly 200 metres.
The sand of Lake Salda is bright white and reminiscent of the Maldives, a colour it owes to its magnesium-rich composition. As the water recedes in summer, several small white islets become visible in the lake.
In this unique setting where lush greenery meets vibrant blue water, you can capture the stunning scenery and then take a boat tour to explore its crystal-clear waters.
Afternoon
For lunch, you can enjoy tasty options such as pide, fish, meatballs, chicken wings, minced-meat toast, and even poppy-seed ice cream.
After treating yourself to a hearty lunch, continue exploring the lake by taking a bike tour. You can rent a bicycle at Yeşilova Public Beach.
Moreover, Lake Salda, located at an altitude of 1193 metres, is also a great place for birdwatching. You can observe around 38 different species of birds in the area while taking in its untamed beauty and exceptional tranquillity.
The forests behind the lake are home to animals such as partridges, rabbits, foxes, and wild boars.
Evening
As darkness falls, the magical sunset views over Lake Salda appear. Sitting high above sea level, the lake creates a dreamy canvas with its clouds, giving you sunset views that feel like moments of pure awe.
Because Lake Salda is a protected natural area, camping is not allowed right around the lake. However, you can set up camp at Yeşilova Public Beach or Doğanbaba Public Beach.
At these beaches, you can camp with your own tent or rent one if you prefer. If you’re travelling by caravan, this is also a great spot to park and stay overnight.
After enjoying the lake, you can also visit Lisinia Nature Village, located about an hour’s drive away. The village is an enjoyable and inspiring place to explore.
