On the first day of the Princes’ Islands tour, start with Büyükada, the largest and most popular island. Büyükada draws interest with its distinctive historic character, created by an eclectic mix of Ottoman, Levantine, and European architectural styles. Car-free streets of the island encourage exploration by bicycle, on foot or eco-friendly electric shuttle buses. You can rent bikes to explore the island’s pine forests and scenic coastline.

If you're interested in historic architecture, visit the Orthodox Orphanage, one of the largest wooden buildings in Europe, and the hilltop Aya Yorgi Church, which offers panoramic views over the Marmara Sea. The church is a significant site of pilgrimage, particularly during the annual processions held on April 23 and September 24.

On those days, you may climb the hill to offer prayers and light candles in the church. Then, rest at seaside cafés with sea views, taste ice cream or Turkish coffee, and dine on fresh seafood as the sun sets. On the island, you’ll experience unique gastronomic delights made from freshly caught fish and seafood, alongside delicious traditional ice creams. Büyükada is worth discovering for everyone, with its peaceful atmosphere, historical texture, natural beauty, and diverse flavours.

After an overnight stay in Büyükada, take the morning ferry to Heybeliada, the second largest of the Princes’ Islands, known for its serene atmosphere and historic architecture. Heybeliada is adorned with historic mansions, elegant cafés, pine forests, and bougainvillaea. It is a peaceful destination for visitors who want to walk, experience the island’s calm atmosphere, and explore local life and nature.

Start your morning with a picnic in Değirmenburnu Nature Park, where you can enjoy a quiet breakfast along with beautiful views of the sea. Capture unique nature and landscape photos when the blues and greens are at their most vibrant.

Then, visit one of the most important buildings on the island, the historic Heybeliada Theological School. Although not open to the public, its impressive architecture can be admired from the outside, standing as one of the most significant structures in Orthodox history.

You can also see St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, renowned for its striking red brick façade and rich historical architecture. If you’re looking to swim, there are several small beaches and quiet coves around the island.

At the end of the day, enjoy fresh seafood and mezes in an al fresco dining. This dinner, accompanied by the salty smell of the sea and the unique view, will be one of your unforgettable memories on Heybeliada.

On the last day, visit Burgazada and Kınalıada. Begin with Burgazada, a small island where you can experience local island life and stroll through its tranquil streets. Steeped in daily life, it resembles a postcard with its historic houses adorned by pink-purple flowers.

You can visit the former home of Sait Faik, one of Türkiye’s most beloved writers. Another notable monument is the historic Aya Yani Church, constructed in 1896. Sun-seekers can sunbathe on the stony beach of Madam Martha Cove and swim in its clear waters.

Kınalıada will be the last location in the Princes’ Islands tour. History buffs interested in religious buildings and religious history should visit historic sites such as the Surp Krikor Church and Kınalıada Mosque, a contemporary structure that incorporates modern architectural elements while being rooted in traditional Ottoman architectural heritage.

Swim at quiet beaches, hike to Hristos Hill for panoramic views, or enjoy tea at seaside cafés. The island offers a charming and authentic culinary experience with its fresh seafood, homemade jams and natural ice cream enjoyed in a peaceful setting. End your route and discovery with an unforgettable memory by having dinner in a place with a sunset view.
