    Environmentally Friendly Transportation

Türkiye’s public transportation system is extensive, reliable, and highly affordable, making it the perfect option for budget-conscious sustainable travellers.

    Public Transportation

Türkiye’s public transportation system is extensive, reliable, and highly affordable, making it the perfect option for budget-conscious sustainable travellers.

With high-speed trains, domestic flights, buses, and subways, taking public transportation across the country will allow you to see Türkiye in a way you never expected you could. Make friends with locals, admire the scenery out your window, and enjoy the wonders of travelling slowly.

The intercity bus network is one of the most affordable ways to travel across Türkiye, although it does take longer than by train or by air. The buses are regular, with comfortable seats, online ticket reservations, and reasonable fares. Most towns also have a bus station linked to major city centres.

Ran by TCDD (Turkish Republic State Railways), Türkiye’s train network connects all major cities. Newer high-speed lines run between Ankara-İstanbul and Ankara-Konya.

    E-Bikes

Electric bikes are powerful and can ensure you reach your destination faster – as well as help you experience powerful, thrilling scenery as you ride! Türkiye’s cycling routes are unrivalled, passing through the magnificent cedar forests of Antalya, travelling back in time through the ancient villages of Marmaris, and snaking alongside the majestic Bosporus River in centuries-old İstanbul.

There are routes to suit all cycling skill levels across Türkiye. Climb mountains, pass through valleys, and peddle along next to the sparkling blue sea.

You can travel sustainably while exploring hidden spots that regular tourists don’t usually get to experience. E-bike travel through Türkiye guarantees you unique memories that last a lifetime.

    Train

Travelling by train is one of the best ways to discover Türkiye. In recent years, we’ve invested a lot of money to develop new lines for high-speed trains and renovate existing ones. From modern rail tours to nostalgic routes, you’re guaranteed unforgettable memories you never expected.

6 reasons to travel by train

    The Experience!

Travelling by train can be incredibly scenic. You can see cities, mountains, and rivers from the seat of a train.

Train travel is an all-around better, more fulfilling experience than travelling by air or road. Long train journeys give you time for reflection and meditation. Train journeys leave you feeling relaxed and raring to go!

    Different Destinations

You get to explore even the smaller, less known destinations by train. The rail network in Türkiye allows you to travel to smaller cities and travel off the beaten track.

    Freedom and Flexibility

With no take off, landing or seat-belt signs, you're not stuck in your seat for endless amounts of time. You can move about the train as frequently as you wish. Since someone else is doing the driving, you're free to eat, drink, nap and get up to stretch your legs whenever you like.

    Cost

Save money – taking the train is a cost-effective way of travelling. The cost of train travel on the Turkish Train Network is especially good value!

    Eco-Friendly

If you take the train, you’ll lower your CO2 emissions by half compared to travelling by plane. So if you worry about the climate impact of your trip, know that train travel is much greener than flying – or driving, for that matter. Plus, you don’t need extra transport to the city centre as you’ll arrive at the heart of the city.
