Rowing GoTürkiye

In 2025, Turkey will host the European Rowing Championships for the very first time, turning the eyes of the rowing world to Antalya. This prestigious event will take place in Manavgat, Antalya, at Sorgun Çamiçi Public Beach, where lush pine forests meet the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean. Known for its fine sand and crystal-clear sea, this special beach is a highly popular destination among both locals and tourists, thanks to its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere. Its location, just 5 kilometers from the Manavgat town center, also makes it easily accessible.

Sorgun Çamiçi Public Beach stands out not only for its natural beauty but also for the authentic market culture that thrives around it. Bustling bazaars showcasing handmade crafts, local delicacies, and traditional Turkish arts offer visitors a truly unique cultural experience. In this special setting where nature, sport, and culture intertwine, Antalya will become the grand stage for rowing in 2025.

The newly added Olympic discipline, Beach Sprint, will hold its first major international competitions in Turkey following its inclusion in the Olympic program. From October 8–12, 2025, the European Rowing Coastal and Beach Sprint Championships will be held, followed by the World Rowing Beach Sprint Finals from November 6–9, 2025, both at Manavgat’s Sorgun Çamiçi Public Beach. Across these two major events, more than 500 athletes from around 30 countries, along with over 2,000 participants, will gather in Antalya.

Featuring both Coastal Rowing (long distance) and Beach Sprint (beach run and sea race) formats, the events will showcase the sport’s most dynamic and spectator-friendly versions. Beach Sprint, in particular, brings together sport, nature, and adrenaline in one thrilling package — offering an intense and unforgettable experience right by the shore. Starting with a run along the beach, followed by an offshore rowing leg, and finishing with a sprint back on the sand, Beach Sprint delivers breathtaking excitement for both athletes and spectators.

In 2025, Antalya will be more than just a holiday paradise — it will stand as one of the most significant stops on the global sports calendar. Surrounded by the natural beauty of Sorgun, these world-class events will once again highlight Turkey’s sporting infrastructure, hosting capabilities, and stunning landscapes to an international audience. Mark your calendars now for this unforgettable series of competitions in Antalya, where sport, nature, and culture come together in perfect harmony!
