Bodrum Antik Tiyatrosu
Perched on the southern slopes of Göktepe, the Bodrum Ancient Theatre is one of the most impressive legacies of ancient Halicarnassus. Dating back to the 4th century BCE, it reflects the distinctive architectural character of pre-Roman theatrical design and preserves the form of an early ancient performance space. Once believed to accommodate up to 10,000 spectators, the theatre has been carefully restored and now functions as an atmospheric open-air venue for around 3,100 guests.
From its stone tiers, visitors are treated to sweeping views over Bodrum, where history and landscape merge in striking harmony. Today, the theatre continues its original spirit of gathering and performance, hosting concerts, cultural events, and festivals. It remains a living monument where ancient stone meets contemporary art, creating an unforgettable cultural experience under the open Aegean sky.
