8th International Didim Olive Festival – Temple of Apollo Mass Olive Oil Tasting Event

The 8th International Didim Olive Festival is planned for 9–11 October 2026 in Didim, Aydın. One of the festival’s flagship activities is the mass olive oil tasting event held at the Temple of Apollo, bringing together the region’s olive and olive oil culture with Didim’s historical and cultural heritage. The wider festival programme is planned to include olive and olive oil tastings, gastronomy workshops, cooking competitions, olive oil and health panels, educational activities, olive harvesting and production-site visits, cultural performances, folk dances and international guest groups. Participation from Mediterranean countries, universities, professional organizations, cooperatives, gastronomy organizations, public institutions and sector representatives is also planned. The mass tasting attracted approximately 2,500 participants in 2024 and 3,280 participants in 2025. For 2026, the organizers aim to expand national and international promotion and significantly increase participation. An official application process has been initiated to register the event with Guinness World Records in the “Largest Olive Oil Tasting Event” category, with a target of 15,000 participants.
